Pre-commissioning Lead (Papua - Tembagapura site)
Job Summary
The role is responsible for leading and managing all Pre-Commissioning engineering and field execution activities, ensuring system readiness, safety compliance, and seamless handover to commissioning teams. This includes the development of execution strategies, system breakdown structures, detailed schedules, and coordination with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver safe and efficient pre-commissioning outcomes aligned with project and shutdown timelines.

Identify and estimate required temporary equipment, materials, and consumables

Accurate material planning with no major shortage during execution

|
Lead execution of mechanical and piping pre-commissioning (water jetting, air blowing, chemical cleaning, oil flushing, flange management, leak testing)

Activities completed as per quality standard and schedule
|
|
Oversee reinstatement of piping systems and equipment internals after cleaning
|
100% systems reinstated without defects or rework
|
|
Manage chemical cleaning, nitrogen purging, and bolt torquing activities
|
All activities executed in accordance with approved procedures and specifications

Interface with Construction, QA/QC, Operations, and Commissioning teams for system handover
|
Smooth Mechanical Completion (MC) handover with minimal punch list

|
Review and approve SOPs and check sheets for testing and preservation

All procedures approved prior to execution and compliant with standards

| Maintain and actively implement SHE programs and responsibility (involve identify, mitigate and monitor SHE risk), including SHE Management System to ensure the effectiveness of the programs conform to official standard, requirements and procedure applied and to confirm the execution of the SHE Responsibility meet the intended outcome | - SHE risks well maintained - Target Zero LTI - SHE Management System meets the current ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SMK3 & SMKP standards and requirements |
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related disciplines)
Skill, Knowledge, and Experience
- Develop Pre-Commissioning Execution Plan and documentation
- Define system/sub-system breakdown and pre-commissioning boundaries
- Prepare and manage detailed execution schedule aligned with shutdown timeline
- Lead field execution of all pre-commissioning activities
- Ensure implementation of safety procedures (JSA, LOTO, PTW)
- Coordinate with Construction, QA/QC, and Commissioning teams
- Manage temporary systems, materials, and consumables
- Oversee reinstatement and system readiness activities
- Review and approve technical procedures and checklists
Certification
- Relevant certification in commissioning/pre-commissioning or engineering discipline is an advantage
- Safety certifications (e.g., LOTO, PTW, HSE) preferred
