Job Summary
•Ensures that data is efficiently stored, retrieved, and protected, supporting the organization’s operational and analytical needs. Their role is forward-looking, focusing on database performance, availability, and scalability to support both current and future business requirements.
•Supports the organization by optimizing database systems to improve data accessibility, ensuring data integrity, and developing backup and recovery strategies.

Job Responsibilities
- Oversees the performance, integrity, and security of databases by regularly tuning and troubleshooting systems to ensure they are running efficiently and responsive to business needs. This is essential to provide uninterrupted access to data and maintain optimal system performance for business-critical operations.
- Implements and manages backup and recovery processes, scheduling regular backups, developing disaster recovery strategies, and testing recovery procedures. This ensures the availability and protection of crucial business data, safeguarding the organization’s assets and guaranteeing business continuity in the event of a failure.
- Maintains database security and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements by implementing security protocols, enforcing data encryption, managing user access controls, and auditing databases regularly. This is crucial to prevent unauthorized access and ensure that the organization complies with relevant industry standards and legal obligations.
- Responsible for installing, configuring, and upgrading database systems, ensuring that they are up to date with the latest versions and patches. This is done to keep the database infrastructure secure, reliable, and capable of meeting both current and future business needs.
- Collaborates with development teams to design and implement efficient database architectures, creating schemas and data models that optimize performance and scalability. This ensures that databases are structured for efficient data retrieval and support business applications effectively.
- Provides support to application developers and end users by troubleshooting database issues, offering guidance on query optimization, and assisting with database-related queries. This ensures that applications integrate smoothly with databases, and users have reliable access to the data they need.
- Continuously analyzes performance metrics, reviews system logs, and identifies areas for improvement or automation, proposing solutions that enhance database performance and operations. This leads to increased operational efficiency, reduced downtime, and improved user experience.
Education
Min. bachelor’s degree from Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics or other relevant degree.
Skill, Knowledge, and Experience
•Min. bachelor’s degree from Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics or other relevant degree.
•Min. 3 years’ experience in database management, administration, or other related fields.
•Strong Technical Skills and Problem-Solving Abilities
•Experience in Database Systems such as MSSQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse. Experience with SAP BW, SAP HANA, or SAP Datasphere is a plus.
•Knowledge of Database Scripting and Automation using SQL, PowerShell, or Python to automate routine database tasks.
•Experience in Database Design and Data Modeling ensuring efficient storage and access to data.
