The role of an Instrument/Telecommunication Commissioning Specialist involves overseeing and executing the commissioning activities for instrumentation and telecommunication systems in various industrial projects, particularly in sectors like oil and gas. Education
A degree in engineering or a related field
Skill, Knowledge, and Experience
Qualifications:
- Experience: Candidates usually need 10–15 years of direct commissioning experience, particularly in the oil and gas industry or similar fields. Offshore project experience is often required.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in various telecommunication systems such as Public Address Emergency Alarm Systems (PA/GA), Satellite Communications Systems (VSAT), and Local Area Networks (LAN) is essential. Familiarity with project documentation such as wiring diagrams and vendor manuals is also important.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to safety are key. The ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure is also highly valued.
